How does the program work?
Participants answer 10 quiz questions each week. The questions cover concepts and occupations that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
How are the prizes given away?
All weekly prizes are given out in a random drawing for each region. The drawings are conducted from those that answer at least 5 of the 10 weekly questions correctly. There will valuable prizes such as laptops, netbooks, iPods, and gift certificates awarded every week. At the conclusion of the weekly quizzes additional prizes will be awarded.
Why should I complete all quizzes?
Everyone that completes all quizzes will be entered to win additional valuable prizes no matter what their scores in the weekly quizzes. Those participants that score in the top 25% of those that complete all quizzes will be entered in the grand prize random drawing.
I may not know the answer to a question and someone in another school or grade may know the answer, how is that fair?
Every question has a hint provided by the STEM character. Clicking on the hint will open a web page that contains the answer or a tool that enables you to develop the answer so everyone has an equal opportunity to find the correct answer.

Why focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math?
President Obama has identified these topics and careers as being critical to the success of America for the future. We will be adding other topics and careers for future quiz competitions. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) are collectively considered core technological underpinnings of an advanced society. In many forums (including political/governmental and academic) the strength of the STEM workforce is viewed as an indicator of a nation's ability to sustain itself.
